Melilla is an autonomous city of Spain located in Northern Africa, bordering on the Mediterranean Sea. It has a Mediterranean climate, temperate and humid, with winds from the west and east, and also occasionally from the Sahara. The average annual temperature is 19 °C. Winters are mild at around 12.8 °C in January, with very hot summers, the August average of which is 25.2 °C. The heaviest rains fall mostly in winter and spring, while summer is a dry season.
