Las Catedrales Beach

Las Catedrales Beach

This legendary Spanish beach is located on the coast of the province of Lugo (Galicia). A beach of fine sand, awarded with a Blue Flag, it is approximately 1,400 metres long and 40 metres wide.
Highlights: Its name was inspired by the set of cliffs in which the beach is set, carved out by the wind and sea, some reaching over 3 metres high. These amazing arches and vaults make for a wonderful landscape, and it has been described as one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. It is perfect for walking in and making new discreekries.
The ideal time to enjoy the scenery is at low tide, because you can walk on the sand between the cliffs. If it is high tide, there are some viewpoints near the car park from which to look at magnificent views of the Lugo Coast. Please be careful not to get too close to the shore from the top, because there is quite a high drop, and the strong winds in this area can be dangerous.
Services available: Hotels, restaurants and tourist information in the nearby town of Ribadeo.
We recommend this Spanish beach for any member of the public, as it’s one of the most famous beaches in Spain.
