Located in the north of the province of Biscay, Mundaka is a tranquil, small coastal village, a corner with its own atmosphere, where most of its streets are narrow, with alleys and improbable corners. But surfing is without a doubt the great protagonist of Mundaka.
Highlights: Mundaka’s wave is considered to be one of the European’s best left sides and even in the world. This wave is hollow, very long, and can reach almost 390 metres of length. Surfers such as Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson, and Mick Fannig have competed on this Spanish beach.
Mundaka Beach is the Spanish surfer beach par excellence. It is approximately 90 metres long and 100 metres wide. Over the whole year, Mundaka receives visits from surfers from the most remote places in the world. In 2012, the challenge of Billabong Mundaka took place, and drew the best world class surfers.
Services available: showers, toilets, beach bar, bus, private parking, surf courses, camping, bins, and fountains. There is disabled access.
We recommend going to this Spanish beach to high-level surfers as it´s famous for it Worldwide. Not suitable for beginners.
