Located at the mouth of the river Espasa, which divides Caravia councils and Colunga, this is a long Spanish beach which is made of golden sand. It is approximately 1,150 metres long and 60 metres wide. It has a high level of occupancy. The normal state of the sea is strong waves. There is easy access on foot and by car. The nearest road is the N-634.
The nearest yachting harbour is Lastres port. To get to this Spanish beach from Oviedo, first take the road to Santander, then the A-8 highway, and from there take the exit marked “Caravia/Colunga/Coceña” (Exit 337). Here you will join the N-632 in the direction of Ribadesella. After passing the village of La Isla, you’ll see the Espasa beach. It offers suitable squalls and fills with comets of all colours and sizes at the end of May.
Services available: toilets, showers, telephone, bins, cleaning service, restaurants, bars, kiosks, vigilance, and lifeguard team. It has disabled access.
We recommend this Spanish beach to those who enjoy running and going with family and children, because of its wide extension and wonderful landscape.
