Genoveses Beach

Genoveses Beach

At more than 1 km long and 50 m wide, Genoveses Beach is, for many travellers and tourists, the most beautiful beach on the Almeria coast. It’s located in the natural park of Cabo de Gata, in particular in Genoveses del Campillo, a mostly unspoilt valley, with no roads and buildings around that would clutter up the beauty of this unusual place. This beach consists of fine golden sand dunes where we can find the typical vegetation of the area: agaves, prickly pears, and pitas.
Just as with Monsul Beach, it’s protected from the crowds, and only a certain number of private cars can access it each day. Once it´s full of cars, you can only access it by public transport. Minibuses go along the route from the end of the village of San Jose to the beaches of Genoveses and Mónsul, or you can go by foot.
Highlights: The name of this Spanish beach is due to the fact that many battles took place between the Spanish Armada and the Genoveses armies. At the end, they both joined Alfonso VII´s troops to conquer the city of Almeria at the Barbary.
There are no services available.
We recommend this beach for having a relaxing day with family and friends.
